The Deputy Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, in Nigeria, Mrs.
Lola Akande, has laid a challenged on the governments at all levels to
give more attention to educating women, which will surely help to
improve the socio-economic and technological advancement of Nigeria
Mrs Akande said that the women needed a lot of attention to get the
best out of them and in return, they will surely be capable of improving
the economic condition of the country, because women are thorough and
dedicated.
Mrs Akande pointed out that for young women potential to be fully
harness, the Government and Parents, there must be a collective effort
from all the stakeholders such as the governments, parents, teachers,
society leaders, as well as other non-governmental associations and
other concerned groups.
The Women In Nigeria are capable of improving the economic condition
of Nigeria by making themselves visible and available for decision
making.
Educated Women are also thorough and dedicated.
Lawmaker, Mrs Akande, who is representing Ikeja Constituency II in
the Assembly, did not forget to expressed her delight at being given a
mentorship role to the largest organisation for girls and women in the
world.
She urged women to always rededicate themselves to improving the socio-economic and technological advancement of their society.
The Assistant State Commissioner, Lagos State Girl Guides
Association, Mrs. Okuyeri Iyabode, explained that the association was a
voluntary congregation of women, which was founded in England in 1919 by
Lord Baden.

added that Girls Guide aimed at inculcating good moral values in young women in Nigeria and the world at large
