IMO GOVERNORMENT PLAN TO EMPLOY 15,OOO YOUTHS WITHIN 4 MONTHS

The governor of imo state said in Owerri,
has said that the state government would
employ 15,000 youths within four months.
Okorocha, he announced this at a meeting
with traditional rulers and some
stakeholders, said that the proposed of doing this
employment was under the “Youth Must
Work” The programme of his administration.
The governor said 8,000 of the beneficiaries
would be teachers while the rest would be
deployed to other sectors. And
He said the aim was to occupy the
unemployed graduates in the state in
something worthwhile.
“Each of them will be paid N20,000 monthly;and he said that
it is not that we do not have teachers but
we want to make sure that our youths are
not idle.
“Every graduate in Imo must go through the
“Youth Must Work” programme before any
state work will be given to him or her.
“Each of them must come with there letters of
identification from his or her traditional
ruler,” he said. The governor
(Okorocha) warned the traditional rulers
against any fraudulent practice in the course
of identifying their subjects that would
benefit from the special scheme.
“No Eze or Government Liaison Officer
should collect money in any way to sign any
kind of form for the would-be beneficiaries.
“Every form from the government is free,
and any GLO found collecting money is gone,” he added.
The acting Vice Chancellor, Imo State
University (IMSU), Owerri, Prof. Ukachukwu
Awuzie, commended the governor for the
initiative.
Awuzie said the proposed employment
would boost the free education programme
of the administration.

Teaching Hospital and no Imo child has
been sent out of school because of school
