LAGOS STATE POLYTECHNIC Post-UTME 2013/2014 Screening Holds 30th July To 1st August!!!

2013/2014 POST-UTME SCREENING
EXERCISE.
Qualified candidates are hereby invited for
the 2013/2014 post-UTME screen
exercise.
NO1. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES
All candidates who chose Lagos
polytechnic as their institution of choice,th obtained the minimum
cut-off mark/score of 150 set for
polytechnic and Monotechnic in the
2013 UTME and also have the required
relevant credits as contained in the JAMB
brochure.
NO2 THE METHOD FOR POST UTME
SCREENING EXERCISE.
1. Candidates are expected to pay N2, 000.00 (two thousand
naira only) excluding Bank charges to e-
transact at any bank for Laspotech Post-
UTME.
2. Who making a full payments,
candidates are given a personal
identification number (PIN) for purchase
of post-UTME form on-line.
3. Candidates are advised to visit the
Lagos state polytechnic website i. e.
www.laspotech.net and follow the steps
below to make payment on-line, fill-in
their details and print out the screening
slip.
i. To begin, Click on this link: http://
portal.laspotech.net/web/guest/
onlineadmission
ii. The page should open with 2 links
iii. Click on “start new application”
iv. Select type of programme i. e. Post-
UTME
v. Therefore, complete the “Basic Data
Form”. Ensure that all items marked (*)
are completed.
vi. Select the means of payment
applicable i. e. e-transact, select e-
transact.
vii. Enter the confirmation order and
receipt numbers (these are issued at the
bank at the point of payment) then click
“continue”. Complete the application
form as appropriate.
viii. You will equally be required and
prompted to uphold a coloured passport
ix. Read and accept the attestation,
cross-check your entries on the
application form, if okay, click “submit”
application form.
x. Print out your application form. You
will be required to present this at the
screening venue and also at a later date,
so keep it safely.
NO3. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
I. UTME Result notification slip must be
presented at the screening centres.
II. GSM, calculator and other
devices are not allowed.
III. Parents, guardians and other
pemission personnel within and
outside the polytechnic will not be
allowed at the screening centres during
the post-UTME screening exercise.
IV. Candidates are to ensure that a valid
e-mail address and functional cell phone
number are used as these will be the
means of communication.
V. Purchase and submission of form on-
line will close on Friday, 19th July, 2013.
SCHEDULE OF SCREENING VENUES, DATES
AND PROGRAMMES
The screening exercise will take place
between Tuesday, 30th July through
Thursday, 1st August, 2013.
Applicants will be duly informed on the
precise date, time and venue for the
screening of their respective programs
of study on the LOSPOTECH website:
www.laspotech.net and their respective
e-mail address/cell phones (sms).
• Candidates should note that screening
starts 9.00am each day at the screening
centres and they will only be allowed
into the school premises one hour (1hr)
before their scheduled screening time

THE Federal Government, has proposed a plan on
Thursday to scrap colleges of education and put it to an end
(abolish ).the Nigeria Certificate in Education
(NCE) as the basic things needed for teaching
in secondary and primary schools in Nigeria. The
Minister of State for Education, Mr Kenneth
Gbagi, said this in Abuja whan he was inaugurating
the technical committee on the
establishment of six new federal universities
and the future of colleges of education,
polytechnics, and mono-discipline
universities in Nigeria. And
the 11-man technical committee is headed
by the Executive Secretary, National
Universities Commission (NUC), Professor
Julius Okojie, while the Chief Executive
Officer and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of
Education, is to serve as the secretary. The
committee has up till Monday, next week, to
submit its report.
The minister said: “We are on the border of
whether we should stage out the colleges
of education or upgrade them to degree-
awarding institutions or convert them to
purely technical schools. One of the
universities we are going to set up now will
be to train teachers for the upper echelon of
education,” he also said “it is no longer
fashionable for us to have this teacher
training stuff with colleges of education. So,
come up with an in-depth arrangement as
to what we intend to do.”
Mr Kenneth disclosed that President
Goodluck Jonathan had directed that the
committee be set up to work out modalities
for the establishment of the proposed six
universities, one in each of the six
geopolitical zones in Nigeria, especially in
states that do not have such federal
institutions

IMO GOVERNORMENT PLAN TO EMPLOY 15,OOO YOUTHS WITHIN 4 MONTHS

The governor of imo state said in Owerri,
has said that the state government would
employ 15,000 youths within four months.
Okorocha, he announced this at a meeting
with traditional rulers and some
stakeholders, said that the proposed of doing this
employment was under the “Youth Must
Work” The programme of his administration.
The governor said 8,000 of the beneficiaries
would be teachers while the rest would be
deployed to other sectors. And
He said the aim was to occupy the
unemployed graduates in the state in
something worthwhile.
“Each of them will be paid N20,000 monthly;and he said that
it is not that we do not have teachers but
we want to make sure that our youths are
not idle.
“Every graduate in Imo must go through the
“Youth Must Work” programme before any
state work will be given to him or her.
“Each of them must come with there letters of
identification from his or her traditional
ruler,” he said. The governor
(Okorocha) warned the traditional rulers
against any fraudulent practice in the course
of identifying their subjects that would
benefit from the special scheme.
“No Eze or Government Liaison Officer
should collect money in any way to sign any
kind of form for the would-be beneficiaries.
“Every form from the government is free,
and any GLO found collecting money is gone,” he added.
The acting Vice Chancellor, Imo State
University (IMSU), Owerri, Prof. Ukachukwu
Awuzie, commended the governor for the
initiative.
Awuzie said the proposed employment
would boost the free education programme
of the administration.

been sent out of school because of school

DELTA ESTABLISH 4 NEW POLYTECHNI​CS

Delta State Government has been given approved to
the  four new establishment Polytechnics
in the state.
The State Information Commissioner, Chike
Ogeah Esq, stated this while detailed
journalist on the opinions reached at the
weekly State Executive Council meeting
which took place in Asaba at the
Government House.
The Commissioner said, that it was the
government decision to further develop the
state and bring education closer to the
people mostly in the riverine
communities of the state.
The Commissioner for Special Infrastructure,
Barrister Orezi Esievor, also said that the
Ministry of Education as well known as SUBEB had
built and renovated well over fifteen
thousand one hundred and fourteen
primary and secondary schools in the state.
She said that the directorate was born out
of Governor’s desire to do a total
rehabilitation of schools in the state, adding
that so far contract for building and
renovation of 60 schools had been awarded
by the special infrastructure implementation
committee, adding that the projects were at
their various levels of completion. And
she all said that 3 were about 14 schools
across the 3 senatorial districts that had
been completed, adding that model primary
schools would be fully equipped with the
state of the arts facilities that would make
learning conducive for pupils.
The new polytechnics would be sited at
Aboh, Abigborodo, Sapele and Bomadi.
